Fitness Assessment
Fitness assessments are used to determine any health-related risk factors you may have, and also to serve as a baseline measurement of your fitness level.  This is helpful in helping you to determine what kind of exercise program would be most appropriate for you and what areas you should focus on.

Fitness Assessment Components

Resting Measurements
The first part of your fitness assessment consists of resting measurements, including height, weight, blood pressure, and heart rate.

Body Composition
Body composition can be assessed by circumference or skinfold measurements at various sites of the body.  These measurements are used to determine the proportion of fat and fat-free tissue in the body.

Aerobic Capacity
Aerobic capacity is used to determine how well your lungs and heart are functioning.  This is done through heart rate measurements taken throughout a test on the treadmill or during a step test.

Flexibility is the range of motion in any particular joint.  There is no one test that can test all joints, but the most commonly tested area is the hamstrings, low back, and hips through a sit-and-reach test.

Muscular Strength/Endurance
Tests of muscular strength and muscular endurance are used to determine the appropriate intensities for you in your exercise program.  This is most commonly done through a hand grip dynamometer, push-up test, and curl-up test.

Each member receives one complimentary complete fitness assessment.  The fees for additional assessments are as follows:

Body Composition - $10
Includes:  Height & Weight, Body Fat Percentage, Girth Measurements, Waist-to-Hip Ration, & Body Mass Index

Partial Fitness Assessment - $10
Includes:  Aerobic Capacity, Muscular Strength, Muscular Endurance, & Flexibility

Complete Fitness Assessment - $20
Includes:  all components of Body Composition Assessment and Partial Fitness Assessment

Complete Fitness Assessment & 30 minute Personal Training Session - $30
You would have a complete fitness assessment, followed by one personal training session to help you reach your goals.

Blood pressure and height/weight checks will be provided to any member interested in this.
