Warsaw Wellness and Recreation Policies

The  Warsaw Wellness and Recreation Center is committed to conducting its wellness facility in a safe manner and holds the safety of participants in high regard. The Town of Warsaw continually strives to reduce risks and insists that all participants follow safety rules and instructions that are designed to protect the participants' safety. However, participants and parents/guardians of minors participating in the facility must recognize that there is an inherent risk of injury when choosing to participate in recreational activities and or programs.

You are solely responsible for determining if you or your child is physically fit and sufficiently skilled to participate in activities.  It is always advisable to consult a physician before undertaking any activity, especially if the participant is pregnant, disabled in any way, or has recently suffered illness, injury, or impairment.

Who may enter?

Anyone, regardless of age may enter the facility but will be required to pay a daily admission fee, be registered for a specific program, or have a valid membership. Everyone will be required to show proof of ID upon entering the facility. New visitors must sign a disclaimer of liability (youth and children must have parent/guardian signature), that will be kept on file.

Age Restrictions

Participants 15-18 years of age do not have to have an adult present while working out in any part of the facility, but are required to have a parental consent form on file. No one under the age of 15 is permitted to use the adult strength machines area, the Free Weight Room, or take some group fitness classes without parent or guardian supervision. Youth age 14 may be allowed to use the strength and free weight equipment, however they must be under direct supervision of a parent or guardian. Youth ages 10-14 may use the cardio machines, however staff reserve the right to remove anyone from the exercise equipment and/or facility for misuse or abuse of the equipment and facility.
Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Children under the age of 10 are only permitted to use the basketball court and must be accompanied by an adult. An adult is defined as an individual over the age of 18.

Cancellation Policy

The Warsaw Wellness and Recreation Center memberships are designed to be automatically renewed each month on your sign-up date. If anyone wishes to not have his/her membership renewed they must fill out our 30 day cancellation form. In order for a membership to be cancelled, memberships must be in good standing and have a zero balance. If you wish to reinstate your membership you may be subject to the current rates and enrollment fees. If you do not give a 30 day cancellation notice and have an unpaid balance in your account, you may be subject to paying off your unpaid balance and any late fees should you reinstate your membership at a later date.

Membership Freeze

The Warsaw Wellness and Recreation Center is happy to accommodate you by freezing your membership for up to 3 months per calendar year (General Freeze) or up to 6 months per calendar year for medical reasons or other extenuating circumstances. However, a medical freeze must be accompanied by a physician’s note. You may request a 6 month freeze for other circumstances, however this will be at the staff’s discretion. Freezing your membership will allow you to lock in your current membership fees in the event that the rates change during your absence. By freezing your membership (versus cancelling it) you will also not be charged an enrollment fee once you are able to return. After your requested freeze period has ended you will begin paying your normal membership fee. A thirty day notice must be given for all general freezes.

The fee for a general membership freeze is $5.00 for individuals and $10.00 for couples and/or families. There will be no charge for 6 month medical freezes or other extenuating circumstances. If you would like to freeze your membership, please stop by the Wellness and Recreation Center and fill out a membership freeze form.

Behavior/Language

Proper conduct is expected at all times when you are in the Warsaw Wellness and Recreation Center. Foul language or disruptive behavior is not allowed. If you are caught participating in such behavior you will be asked to leave the facility.

Returned Check Fee

The Town of Warsaw charges a $35.00 fee for each check that is returned due to insufficient funds.

Late Fee

If payment is unable to be received due to insufficient funds on your due date, we will attempt to draft your membership payment up to 10 days after your original due date. If payment is still not received after the 10 day grace period a $10.00 late fee will be added to your account.

After 10 days we will no longer attempt to draft your payment and you will be responsible for making your payment or updating your payment information in person or by phone. If payment is not made after 30 days of your original due to date your membership will be cancelled and there will be an outstanding balance remaining on your account.

Photograph Policy

The participant may be photographed and or videotaped while participating in our wellness and recreation activities, and consent is given for the reproduction of such photos or videos for advertising and or publicity.

Facility Hours and Closing Procedures

We have posted the daily facility hours in several locations throughout our facility along with all holiday hours. Should the facility need to close for uncontrollable circumstances we will do our best to give as much warning as possible. Please note the facility may need to close due to inclement weather. If we have poor weather conditions, please call the facility to make sure we are open.

Help us keep it clean

We strive to mantain a high level of cleanliness in our facility including but not limited to our restrooms, floors, and fitness equipment. We have paper towel dispensers, sanitizer, and trash cans to allow and encourage members to wipe down each machine after use. This helps keep our facility and machines clean and safe for members to use. If you notice something that needs extra attention please let us know.

Lost and Found

We do have a lost and found. If an item is found we will place it in our lost and found for two weeks. You will need to give a detailed description of the item before it can be returned. Please note that the Wellness and Recreation Center is not responsible for lost or stolen items.

Lockers/Personal Items

For your convenience we do have lockers located in the men's/women's restroom area. We have day lockers which we provide at no charge and full lockers which can be rented monthly. You must bring your own lock for either locker. We are not responsible for lost, stolen, or damaged property. If a lock is found on a locker that has not been properly rented the lock will be removed and any items found in the locker will be placed in lost and found.

We ask that you put all personal items including gym bags and clothing in a locker while you are using the facility.

Food and/or Beverages

To help us keep our facility as clean as possible we ask that you do not eat while in the fitness area. Drinks are permitted, however they should be in a re-sealable container.

Appropriate attire must be worn at all times. A shirt and proper athletic shoes must be worn at all times. Shirts with offensive/profane messages are not allowed. Flip flops, open toed shoes, and boots are not allowed in the exercise areas or on the basketball court.

Smoking/Alcohol

Tobacco or alcohol products of any kind are prohibited at the Warsaw Wellness and Recreation Center. Any person found using alcohol or tobacco products will be asked to leave the facility.

Exercise Equipment/Free Weights

All equipment needs to be used in the manner for which it is designed. Equipment orientations are recommended for participants who are unsure of how to properly use the exercise equipment. If you would like to schedule an orientation please ask one of the staff at the front desk.

Please re-rack all dumbbells and weights once you are finished using them (when re-racking dumbbells please place them in the appropriate space according to their weight).

Please refrain from dropping dumbbells or any other weights when using them. This will help weights from becoming damaged or broken.

Volunteers

If anyone is interested in volunteering or know someone who is please let us know. We are always interested in having people volunteer for our wellness or recreational activities. We would love your help at special events or as a team coach, so please feel free to come join our team.
